Recently the Methodist Church of Singapore commented that homosexuality is"sinful, abhorrent and deviant."
It is things like these, scathing words spewed forth, such disparagement, that truely bristle me.
I've never had much love for Christianity, and such just makes it very much worse.
Not that I'm gay or what, I'm pretty sure I like penis, but it's the condescending condemnation vibes that I get from that statements, or any other statement pertaining to similiar detractment.
It's not the idea of a god that annoys me, (I'm still caught halfway between being atheist or agnostic about the existence of God) it's the way they go about channeling the religion. It's how the religion, Christianity, operates, that makes me so cynical.
All their preaching about not harming and forgiving their enemies, when in fact the bloodiest of massacres were linked to, if not directly caused by, Christianity, or the Catholic Church, in an attempt to coerce and subsequently purge 'impure' religions.
Now tell me, who the hell gave them a right to call other religions impure?
On a neutral basis, don't think that's terribly brusque to do that?
The bloody, in a literal sense, history of Christianity already detracts their merit in my eyes a great deal.
To put in simplest terms, I do not like the religion at all, and I'm frank about it.
Their condemnation of homosexuality is the ultimate source of my ire.
Like Ninny explained, God doesn't condemn homosexuals in the bible, (though its a sin and they go to hell blahblahblah etc) so we mere humans have no right to condemn them either.
I agree with the condemnation part, almost passionately.
This era we're living in, exists in a secular world.
Things like sexual orientation is a choice, and choices are a right every person has.
So the church should just STFU and keep their bigotry to themselves only.
Knnbccb.
However I do know that a significant share of Christians do not view homosexuality this way, and this enmity does not apply to them. A whole lot of Chrisitians are genuinely good people, but it is the utterance of such a derogative statement, that piques me.
It's directed to the Church in general, which in here is viewed as an anthropomorphic entity, especially at all those behind it.
Rants again, on a pretty much offensive and sensitive topic.
Sorry if this offends anyone who isn't the object of today's rantfest,
but I just can't find it in myself to remotely like the religion.
I say this unabashedly and with no cowardice, it's really how I feel afterall.
;p

For some unfathomable reason, I can never remember my dreams.Since long ago, I'd wake up with the feeling I've dreamt of something highly peculiar, but there is just no recollection.
Not to mention, my dreams, are always odd.
Though I can't remember the content, I'm aware somehow, that most of the time they are incomprehensible weirdness.
Sometimes they're just plain 'WTF. LAWL.'
Snippets do come back to me, but by the next day the entire oddity will be forgotten.
It is hard for me to try to recall afterwards.
Even vaguely.
The subconcious is an interesting entity, huh.
Maybe I will pursue psychology later on.
